In Week 1 of this four-week Bible study, Joy of Job Author Maribeth Vander Weele discusses the traditional interpretation of Job and introduces the methodology used to support the alternative view. The class will examine the character of Job through the lens of multiple Biblical Scriptures. PowerPoint slides are available to the right.

January 13, 2019
Week 2 tests the theory and recounts the evidence that Job fell into religious pride and engaged in devastating business practices.

January 20, 2019

​In the traditional interpretation of Job, the book stands alone as a “Hermit” among other Biblical narratives with unique themes. Week 3 examines how the reinterpretation of Job fits squarely with  the rest of Scriptures.​ It explores the character of God through the lens of the author of Job and related Biblical scriptures.

January 27, 2019

Week 4 discusses the character of Satan as evidenced in Job and elsewhere in the Old Testament and the means through which Job--and mankind in general--falls into his schemes.
